Breathing just a little deeper today Hopeful to find some meaning to the latest protest Options stalled, nothing seems quite right There should be hope somewhere, no Life is bigger than this The pressures do exist, we begrudgingly admit We define our success and how it does affect Some choose to build a life, while others must regret The path is split What happens now Is this the right move Have I given up, what happens next What does it mean to better oneself Life is bigger than this The pressures do exist, we begrudgingly admit We define our success and how it does affect Some choose to build a life, while others must regret This taste is the same I've felt this way before I'm a failure, I'm afraid of everything That's positive in m We build our life today

Your Help 01:55
I'm sorry this is happening You said it's alright And Stayed by my side As things crashed down, as things broke down Is it really so bad, to admit that I get sad Something went wrong the other night You looked terrified and I began to cry Should've crashed the car on the Merritt Parkway Still don't know how you stayed sane While my mind ran astray Am I that far gone Do I want to die And keep you safe at the same time Something went wrong the other night You looked terrified and I looked like shit Why is so hard to believe in you or me or anyone in this house There are some people that will never leave your side Your hopes and dreams will cross their minds And they'll always keep you safe And they'll never let you die

Findings 05:34
Are we alone Or completely powerless With this love We can do anything We are powerful But not powerless I am dissatisfied with life Because I'm blocking a part of me that shines It's what I know What I know Things do get better now Its what I've found And it's coming along I'm not alone in this Torn apart We live in fear But we can But we can See something worthwhile and dear We must hold on I am dissatisfied with life Because I'm blocking a part of me that shines It's what I know What I know Things do get better now Its what I've found And it's coming along I'm not alone in this What I've found is that love Permeates Everything

about

Build Your Life was written and formed from January 2016 to January 2019. This was my first attempt at writing and singing lyrics based on the plights of depression and anxiety I faced and continue to work on. Build Your Life's intent is to be genuine, transparent and earnest. It aims to maginify and confront feelings of doubt, sadness and hopelessness while countering them with messages of optimism, hope and honesty.

Half of proceeds will be donated to the Icarus Project.

The Icarus Project is a support network and education project by and for people who experience the world in ways that are often diagnosed as mental illness. We advance social justice by fostering mutual aid practices that reconnect healing and collective liberation. We transform ourselves through transforming the world around us.
